John Stember's Photography is focused on the beauty of Woman

Women from all regions around the world, all ethnic groups and cultures no matter what color or race, both primitive and modern. The work is inspired primarily by his passion and creative imagination ... therefore not necessarily intended to be an historical or cultural reference.

John Stember was born in London and has lived in Paris, New York and Los Angeles before arriving in Tahiti. He has photographed for every major fashion magazine in the world, including American Vogue English Vogue, French Vogue, Italian Vogue, Harpers, Bazaar, Glamour, Marie Claire France, Marie Claire Spain, Elle, Vanity Fair, Cosmopolitan, Allure, Life, Photo Magazine, GQ, New York Times, LA Times and many other journals and magazines.

He has also been the Photographer of Choice for hundreds of international commercial advertising campaigns in both Europe and USA from Revlon to Coca Cola and many other Fortune 500 clients.

John left New York in April 2001 on his sailboat for the 7,000 mile voyage to Tahiti French Polynesia following an intuitive calling to sail to the remote islands of the South Pacific Ocean, to immerse himself in abundant nature. After an adventurous journey he finally arrived in the Marquesas Islands to a wave of inspiration which led him to develop a passion for the raw beauty of nature. In time he developed a strong passion for 'Primitivism' in his work holding the belief that primitive man was closer to the source of creativity and inspiration than "civilized" man.

He's now focused on the multifaceted ethnic beauty of women in Tahiti French Polynesia, and their profound relationship to the Earth, as it was during humanity's infancy in primeval times. by his passion/creative imagination not as a historical reference

John published his first book of photography titled ‘Te Hine Manea’ or ‘Devine Femininity’ which pays homage to the mysterious beauty of Tahitian Women and the all powerful spiritual force of ancient Tahiti called the ‘MANA' John has introduced his artistic aesthetic to over thirty five thousand of his 'facebook' friends who have enthusiastically embraced his vision. He believes that the modern online interactive culture needs to move away from the stagnant commercial imagery to more intimate personal images which reflect humanity that people can experience in a more self-referential way.

Ezel Mustafa started his career in his native London with John Frieda, and then at Leonard in the late 80's. Ezel made legendary imagery with photography greats Helmut Newton, Mario Testino and Guy Bourdin. Now a partner at ChiroSpa in New York, Ezel is breaking back into the game at the top with a whole new energy and relaxation.

Ezel is a master of both sexy and natural hair, but he can also frequently be caught dying and cutting custom wigs and extensions for both deconstructed and harder-edged looks. In essence, Ezel loves pretty and punk rock with equal passion. Models and clients marvel at his futuristic taste and style.

Ezel enjoys working with upcoming photographers as well as those already established. He is in constant motion, creating, re-creating and honing his craft. Frequently, Ezel has the experience where an "inspirational" shot from past photo history is shown to him to dictate the hair direction – only to have to reply that it was he who had done the work in the inspired photo in the first place. Ezel carries an appreciation for past accomplishments, but feels he is as good as his last client or job. Ezel works with the combined energy of a youthful spirit and technical knowledge of a wizard.

Barry McKinley - Photographer

GQ hired Barry to do many shoots during the time I was associate art director there. Barry was always a complete perfectionist and was usually very difficult to get along with. But when we'd return home and look at the pictures, they would be so beautiful that we would always book him again.Barry was based in London when his agent,Frances Grill, first brought his book to GQ. It was filled with Uomo Vogue covers and tear sheets from British Vogue and other glossy European magazines and contained some of the most beautiful fashion photographs I had ever seen. The thing I remember most about his pictures was their lushness, like the one of a black woman dressed in hot pink walking across a mud flat somewhere in South Africa with about ten thousand flamingos taking flight in front of her.

Brian Burdine, Senior art director, Walt Disney Direct and Childcraf Corp.

In the 1970s Barry McKinley helped change the way men's fashion was photographed by introducing movement, casual poses, and outdoor settings into his pictures. He worked as a fashion photographer all over Europe during the 1960s and then moved to New York and worked for magazines such as Esquire, GQ, and Interview. McKinley was born in NewZealand and lived in Australia, where he studied medicine before taking up photography. He died in 1992.

Stan Malinowski, full name: Stanley Edward Malinowski, Jr., (born 2 November 1936 in Chicago, IL) is an American photographer known for his fashion photography.

Malinowski is an only child to Regina Grajewska (who returned to her maiden name after divorce) and Stanley Malinowski, Sr. He studied at Loyola University, Roosevelt University, and the Illinois Institute of Technology; majoring in engineering, psychology and photography. Instructors included Harry Callahan and Aaron Siskind.

Having grown up in Chicago, Playboy seemed a natural fit for the budding photographer. "I brought some slides to Playboy, asked if I could return to show more and a month later walked away with my first assignment." Malinowski would move on to Penthouse where he worked with Anna Wintour. While there, the art director at Vogue, Rochelle Udell and Alexander Liberman saw his photos in Penthouse and brought him in to shoot a spread. This led to a thriving career in high fashion shooting for Harper's Bazaar (including French and Italian editions), Vogue, Valentino along with various perfume and make up ads. Malinowski has traveled all over the world and worked with some of the biggest names in modeling including Christie Brinkley, Cindy Crawford, and Gia Carangi.

On November 1, 2008 a retrospective of his works was shown alongside artist and photographer Nick Azzaro. "From Fantasy to Fashion" showcased works from his illustrious career, beginning with photographs of Playboy covers in the 1960s to his international photo shoots over the next 25 years. Subjects included Iman, Janice Dickinson, Kelly Lebrock, Andie Macdowell among others. The two-man show contrasted the fashion scene of past decades with current trends, highlighting shooting locations throughout Chicago.

Malinowski says he was influenced by Victor Skrebneski, Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, Bert Stern, Saul Leiter, Will McBride, Horn & Griner and most of all Francis Giacobetti and Hans Feurer. He currently works and resides in Chicago.

Giampaolo Barbieri - Photographer

Quote:

Gian Paolo Barbieri (or Giampaolo Barbieri) (born 1938) is an Italian fashion photographer.

Born on the Via Mazzini in Milan, Barbieri's family were fabric wholesalers, and his father owned a department store. He performed in amateur dramatics in the mid-1950s, forming "The Trio", a performance troupe with his friends. Barbieri also had a non-speaking role in Luchino Visconti's film Medea. He was influenced by cinema at an early age and photographed models in 1960s Rome, part of the social scene that was portrayed in Federico Fellini's 1960 film La Dolce Vita.

A self-taught photographer, his first professional work was an apprenticeship to the Harper's Bazaar photographer Tom Kublin, who died twenty days later. In 1963 Barbieri had some images published in the Italian fashion magazine Novità, which became Vogue Italia in 1965. Barbieri also shot for the American and French editions of Vogue.

The role of fashion editor had not been fully created in the 1960s, and Barbieri had to find the best setting for his photographs and create the hairstyles, makeup, and jewellery. This could led to the use of unusual materials, a notable example being earrings made with table tennis balls painted in a mother-of-pearl colour.

Barbieri opened his own studio in Milan in 1964, and began to work closely with ready-to-wear fashion designers a few years later. His creative relationship with Walter Albini led to an appreciation of the role of the stylist, and Barbieri and the fashion designer Valentino were responsible for innovations in modern fashion advertising campaigns. Notable models that Barbieri has photographed include Mirella Petteni, Jerry Hall, Veruschka, Monica Bellucci and Audrey Hepburn. Barbieri has worked for fashion designers Armani, Versace and Ferré, and Dolce & Gabbana, Pomellato, and Giuseppe Zanotti.

In the 1990s Barbieri became a travel photographer. An exhibition of Barbieri's work was curated by the English fashion photographer David Bailey, shown at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Kunstforum in Vienna.

Barbieri photographs in analog and does not retouch his pictures. One of his early cameras was a Reflex Woiglander 35mm. In 1968 he was awarded the Biancamano Prize as Best Italian Photographer and was named one of the 14 best international fashion photographers by the German magazine Stern in 1978.

Lisa Eldridge - Make-up Artist

Biography

With over 20 years of experience, Lisa Eldridge is one of the most highly regarded make-up artists on the international beauty and fashion circuits. Whether she’s called upon to create her signature look, best described as fresh and flawless or to work her magic for the catwalk or on editorial shoots, her understated, modern approach to beauty has made her indispensable to designers, magazine editors, art directors and celebrities alike. Through her online make-up tutorials, and her role as resident on-screen beauty expert for three seasons of Channel 4’s successful series ‘Ten Years Younger, Lisa has become one of the most recognised faces in the beauty industry, both in the UK and internationally.

Having previously lived and worked in Paris, New York and LA, Lisa is now based in London. Throughout her career, she has maintained a high editorial profile working with many of the world's top fashion photographers including Regan Cameron, Solve Sundsbo, Patrick Demarchelier, Thomas Schenk, Paolo Roversi and Horst Dirkgerdes. Her masterful make-up artistry appeared on the pages of virtually every fashion magazine including British, Italian, Chinese and Japanese Vogue, Allure, Glamour, Elle, Numero, Pop and Lula.

In addition, Lisa has collaborated with many of the world's top fashion houses on their advertising campaigns and fashion shows including Chloe, Alberta Ferretti, Prada, Donna Karan, Moschino and PPQ.

The list of celebrities she has made-up reads like a who's who of the world's most glamorous women including Kate Winslet, Katy Perry, Keira Knightley, Emma Watson, Eva Green, Cameron Diaz, Amanda Seyfried, Kate Moss, Helena Christensen, Cate Blanchet, Demi Moore and Salma Hayek.

Continually quoted on the pages of the glossiest magazines, Lisa’s expertise has become highly prized over the years. In 1998, her authority was officially recognised by industry giant, Japanese make-up and skin care company, Shiseido who approached Lisa to work on developing the concept for a new make-up line. Designed and developed with Shiseido, Lisa collaborated on everything from shade and texture formulation, to packaging and new product development. "The experience of working on my own make-up line really completed the circle of my career, and has lead me to fully understand make-up from the inside out having applied it, designed it and learnt how it is made and sold," says Lisa.

This was followed by another coup, when Lisa was head-hunted by established British cosmetics brand, No.7, and appointed as their Creative Director in 2003, a post she still holds. Working on the re-design and re-launch of this cult brand, she was responsible for bringing No.7 cosmetics back into the limelight. Using her vast experience in product development, formulation, colour, design, consultant training and P.R., her role has been key in the brand’s reinvention and global expansion into Europe, the US and Far East. What sets Lisa apart from her peers is her innate ability to translate trends, and then to communicate them through her expert make-up tutorials (created in her own studio) and blog posts. The tutorials brought her to the attention of Chanel, who asked her to collaborate with their Creative Director, Peter Phillips on Chanel’s “Make-Up Confidential,” a monthly digital magazine for which Lisa creates content. Most recently, Lisa has been commissioned to write a monthly column for British ELLE, entitled “The Beauty Guru”, where she will sharing more of her aspirational and accessible make-up know-how with the readers.
