Alain Pichon is descended from three generations of Hairdressers in the mid west coast of France. He had a kick start as an apprentice at the largest salon in Loire Valley. His Master was Vidal Sassoon trained with a passion for his craft allowing Alain an important training. Alain experienced the overwhelming trends of Europes most popular hairdressing companies, and was instructed in the traditional techniques of Hairdressing and the most precise methods of cutting.
At 21 Alain moved to London in search of deeper inspiration, which he found in collaborating with the Toni & Guy Company. Working from salon to academy during 7 years, he reached the level of artistic director and had the opportunity to travel all over the world performing shows and seminars.
Emphasis moved from the conditional French hairdressing world towards London street culture of individual styles. Driven by making a statement, Alain then became more inspired by the head to toe completed look on a model, driven by the world of high fashion.
When the opportunity presented itself, Alain made the big leap from working for a corporation to starting a freelance career. Creating his own company and taking on responsibility for its achievements was very motivating, as he was very excited to learn how the fashion industry dealt with hairstyles.
Early on Alain found an agent which brought work with most of the London based magazines, meeting influential people to collaborate with, and rapidly moving into working with designers to create hairstyles that compliment their shows collections.
Alain really enjoys working with celebrities to create their personalised look. In recent years, he has worked with David & Victoria Beckham, Sting & his wife Trudie Styler, Scarlett Johansson, British Princes William & Harry, Kylie Minogue, Claudia Schiffer, Madonna and many more.
An important moment in his career was when Alain was asked to create an art exhibition from his studio based association. This led him to expand his work with a different approach. Now thinking of hair as an element he could sculpt, paint, structure detached from the human body.
Today Alain organises his work through Streeters London Management, making him travel every week to photo shoots all over the world for International magazines such as Vogue(s), Another Magazine, W Magazine, Numero, Dazed & Confused, or Advertising campaign such as Prada, YSL, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Hugo boss and Fashion Shows from NYC, to London, Milan and Paris.
His truly extensive knowledge of hair, both as a session stylist and salon based hairdresser means he can predict what women want. He demonstrates his passion for new products with stunning, high definition styles.
His motto is HairAction meaning on the move with Energy Styling & Emotion Teasing.
I love the opportunity to make a difference and contribute creatively to where hair fashion is heading , thats my true passion !!
