Born in Texas, the youngest of 5 children, Tracey moved to England when she was one. Having 4 older siblings meant she was exposed to fashion trends & music from an early age. Tracey graduated from a private girls school at age 16 and worked at Vidal Sassoon in London before moving to New York to work at Leonard's hair salon. When Joseph Ettedgui opened his first Joseph Tricot shop on Madison Avenue, she worked there as a sales assistant. In New York she went on to work for Xavier Moreau & Vicky Cole, agent to photographers, hairdressers and make-up artists. Having been inspired by working with Chanel products at Leonard's, Tracey decided on a career in make up and did a short course in London, before moving to Paris where she assisted Linda Cantello & Mary Greenwell on fashion shows in London, Paris and Milan.
Her first editorial job was for Marie Claire magazine photographed by Steve Hiett with whom she has continued to have a long working relationship. She went on to work with Mario Testino for Lei magazine and Michael Thompson for French Vogue. Campaigns with Karl Lagerfeld followed as well as working with Annie Liebowitz for Vanity Fair. She has worked with some of the best photographers in the business, including David Bailey, Paolo Roversi and Steven Klein.
A move to Los Angeles introduced Tracey to the world of film. She was key make up artist on two feature films "Liebestraum" and "Mr. Jones" both directed by Mike Figgis and was nominated for an ACE Award for the HBO film "The Art of Seduction" starring Juliette Binoche. While in Los Angeles she established a strong working relationship with both Herb Ritts and Helmut Newton.
After moving back to Paris, Tracey did shows for Helmut Lang, Paul Ka, Paco Rabanne, Moschino and Romeo Gigli as well as men's shows for Jean-Paul Gaultier and Yohji Yamamoto. Her editorial work can be seen regularly in Japanese & Italian Vogue, German Glamour, French Elle, French & Italian Marie Claire, L'Officiel and Velvet amongst many others.
