Rudi began his hairdressing career in Glasgow in the late 80's before moving to London, where he quickly made a name with his innovative stage demos and presentations at major events such as Cosmoprof, IBS and The Alternative Hair Show. In 1995 he joined the Windle organisation as creative director, where he remained for 8 years. During this time he was responsible for developing the image of Windle, and was involved in the European marketing and distribution of Phytologic and Bumble&Bumble hair care products. In 1998, Rudi began assisting legendary session stylist Eugene Souleiman, working on hundreds of international catwalk shows and shoots for top magazines. By 2001, Rudi's own work was sufficiently recognised for him to be shortlisted for Session Hairdresser of The Year at the British Hairdressing Awards. Since then he has built up an impressive body of work in the fashion industry, contributing to magazines such as Interview, Love, V, i-D, Allure, Harper's Bazaar and Vogue (US, Paris, Nippon, China, Japan, Italia, L'Uomo). Photographers Rudi has collaborated with include Mario Testino, Lachlan Bailey, Solve Sundsbo, Mikael Jansson, Paolo Roversi, Alasdair McLellan, Cedrlc Buchet, Mark Segal and many others. Rudi has directed hair on the catwalks of London, Milan, Paris and New York for designers such as Tim Coppens, Marios Schwab, Costume National, Richard Chai, Haider Ackermann, Alessandro dell'Acqua. Veroniquo Branquinho, Ruffo Research, Jens Laugesen, and Clements Ribeiro. He has also worked on music videos for Tori Amos, Playgroup and Goldfrapp. Other music clients include U2, Liam Gallagher and Franz Ferdinand. Celebrity clients include Cameron Diaz, Reese Witherspoon, Keira Knightley, Rachel Weisz, Gemma Arterton and many others. Rudi currently splits his time between New York and Stockholm. |
